It was one of the most horrifying 72 hours in the lives of all Indians in the recent times, I bet. Yes I am talking about the Mumbai terrorist attacks at Hotel Taj, Oberoi Trident, Nariman House and some other major locations at the financial capital of India. The Operation Black Tornado which was taken up to rescue those effected in the recent Mumbai Terror attacks has fianlly concluded but not before we lost more than 250 lives and injuring a few thousands. The whole of India was reeling under the pressure for 3 consecutive days but we fought back and gave a solid reply to those looking to disrupt the peace and proserity of our country.

A terror outfit named Deccan Mujahideen has claimed the responsibility of the attacks, but the same needs to be investigated to find the underlying truth in it. The terrorist had travelled through Pakistan and finally reached India through the sea route to create havoc at the financial capital of the country. The whole world condemned the attacks. But as usual our politicians never stop playing politics over such issues even. Lets not get into those details currently.

But a major development is taking place currently in New Delhi. The home minister Mr.Shivraj Patil has decided to quit his home ministry and Congress Working Commettie (CWC) has accepted his resignation. And now finance minister Mr. P. Chidambaram has been asked to take over the reign of home misnitry from Mr.Shivraj Patil. Mr.Chidambaram will no longer hold the finance minister office. The finance ministry office will now go to the Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh. Its difficult to say at this point of time whether this changes at the center is going to be effective or not, but Congress has played his cards considering the General Elections coming very soon next year.

The Indian share markets opened the day after it was closed down in view of the terror attacks. And it showed a great resileince and closed marginally up. The sensex closed 66 points up and Nifty closed flat.It will be interesting to see how the markets perform in the coming days. Meanwhile Dow is approaching the 9,000 level with some gains coming in the last week. If it continues to move up , we can see a good recovery in the Indian markets too in the coming week.
